THE VOCAL TRACT
The vocal tract is the cavity in human beings and in animals where sound that is produced at the sound source (larynx in mammals; syrinx in birds) is filtered.
ORGANS OF SPEECH
Speech organs produce the many sounds needed for language. Organs used include the lips, teeth, tongue, alveolar ridge, hard palate, velum (soft palate), uvula and glottis.
THREE TYPES OF SYSTEMS ARE INVOLVED IN THE PRODUCTION OF THE SOUNDS
Phonatory system: Among some phoneticians, phonation is the process by Which the Un Certain folds produce vowel sounds-through quasi-periodic vibration.

Respiratory System: a system of organs Functioning in respiration and in humans Especially Consisting of the nose, nasal passages, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
Articulatory System: The system of joints in the body.
CONSONANTS SOUNDS
Consonant sounds are created when there is a blockage or constriction of the air-stream in the vocal tract
PLACES OF ARTICULATION
The term place of articulation refers to the place in the mouth where the sound is produced or where there is the most contact or near contact of articulators.
VOICED AND VOICELESS CONSONANTS.
